Swift Construction Company Inc. was started in October 1977 When Randy Swift bought out the assests of C.G. Sweeny Construction.
Randy Swift graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1969 with a degree in business management. He had been working for Sweeny Construction, a small excavating and asphalt paving contractor, during the summers. Upon graduation Randy went to work full time for Sweeny Construction. When Swift Construction Company Inc. started in 1977 we had a small batch plant, a few trucks, and eight employees.
Over the years Swift Construction Company Inc. has grown to include offices, shops, 50+ employees, and modern asphalt facilities located in Joplin Missouri. Additional support equipment has been added to keep us highly efficient in our daily activities.
Collin Swift, Randy's son, joined the company in 1998 after graduating from Pittsburg State University with a degree in Construction Management. Collin shortly took over the estimating responsibilities of the company. Swift Construction has continued to grow in revenues and capabilities over the years.
In 2004, Swift Construction Company Inc. diversified and bought an asphalt shingle grinder. Since that time, the company has continued to develop an sustain the recycle benefits of asphalt shingles. We now have two shingle grinders that travel and work for our friends and customers throughout the midwest corridor from Minnesota to Texas.
